Bush Preditors 1 Bustleholme Utd 2

With the weather not being with us last week this weekends games were are first in this season with us being moved up to the next highest league that being league 2. We started very strongly with some very good passing between the lads and plenty of attacking football. We opened the scoring with a fantastic run down the wing by Alex Hayes who then stroked the ball into the bottom far corner, a tremendous goal well done. The second goal came from yet again some tremendous football from the lads who were constantly putting pressure on their opponents. With this pressure on the goal we went forward with some great passing with the final pass going to Priyan who stroked the ball past the keeper. In the second half we started to tired but still kept the pressure on but unfortunately we let one slip midway through the half.

Summary: first game of this season three points and some very good strong teamwork.

Bustleholme United 1 Bentley Community 0 12Th October

This game was a battle, a battle I’m very proud to have watched and been part of. We started the game looking a little bit worst for wear from the first game but we slowly but surely we started to get into the game. Each and every player did exactly what we asked them to do ‘WORK AS A TEAM AND FOR EACH OTHER’ and they did. We had it all with shots at goal from Priyan and several good chances from Alex Hayes but they were meet by some good saves from the Bentley keeper. We had a game saving clearance in the second half from Joshua Appleyard. And even surprisingly we had a slight goalkeeping error from Ryan, who made up for it later.

Then as time was running out I said to a parent that we just aren’t going to score in this game when we went on the attack again and got a penalty for a handball. All the players wanted the penalty but Adam was nominated and he slotted it away with confidence, (and did exactly what I asked him to do, well done). With only minutes to spare and the parent’s nerves at their end we had what I can only describe as a pure battle. We had the ball in our area with every player in yellow but Reece trying to clear it. When they did, they did to the edge of the box, at which point the battle continued with Tom, Adam, Owen, Josh and Alex Hayes. All trying to win the ball they cleared straight to Reece who ran with the ball half the length of the pitch and shot at goal, but the keeper saved it. Seconds later the referee blew for time. Summary: team work for each other can get a lot more than people think!!!!
