Bustleholme United 1 Hednesford 1
The first game of this weekend was a very well organised team effort. With a change in formation that I decided
only 10m minutes before kick off, we struggled to keep our shape but with a little more explanation we eventually got a grip
of the game. Every one of the team played with a willingness to win every ball but unfortunately we went into half time
one nil down. Second half came and after five minutes and with some great team passing, the ball went into the box for
Alex Hayes to tap it in on the far post. We kept the pressure on them for the rest of the game but couldn’t put
another one in.
Bustleholme United 4 Lane Head 2
This game was yet even better than the previous one but even closer. We went behind with some poor goalkeeping
from Ryan that gave lane head the opportunity to take the lead from a previous united player who finished from a tight angle.
Two minutes later we equalised with a goal from Kaine as the ball became loose from a great corner from Reece. Then
from another brilliant corner from Reece Nikki Lal volley’s it into the back off the net to make it 2-1. With
Ryan having to make up for his mistake, he did so with massive affect with three saves over the bar one round the post and
a few dives to the oppositions feet, so for that alone well done Ryan you did exactly what I asked of you. Lane head
came back to level the game but with the game switching from one end to the other it wasn’t until the last 5 minutes
when Joshua finished off a fine passing move with a fierce strike. With seconds remaining Reece took a long goal kick
for Kaine to run through the Lane head defence and strike it passed the goalkeeper.
Summary of the weekend: working as a team with the willingness to win the ball together has just earned us four points
out of six well done to you all.
