Blades produced an excellent display of team football today to earn a point against a stubborn Warstones side who tested
Blades for the whole 70 minutes. 0-0 at half time with Blades having produced a solid first half performance and going
close on a number of occasions without success. Very good displays of football all over the pitch from every player saw
Blades taking the game to Warstones who played their part to produce a good advert for junior football. After the break
Blades started where they left off and kept battling away to find a breakthrough. Warstones kept them at bay howvever and
tested Blades' resolve several times but, true to the spirit in this Blades side, they were kept out by a solid team performance
from the Blades. Eventually, Blades resilience paid off and Ricky Sira hit a well deserved goal for The Blades following
another spell of neat team football. It looked like Blades might take the points but 10 minutes from time Warstones pressed
again and scored a fortunate goal. Blades weren't going to give up however and they continued battling to the end and were
unlucky to have a second goal wiped out for offside and sadly saw a couple of freekicks not quite hit the target. Good
performances in particular from Man of the Match Ryan Stanley, Alec Knowles, James Cartwright, Edward Parsons, Ricky Sira
and a solid debut from Steven Augustine Every player today showed the Blades' team spirit and played their hearts out throughout
the game and really deserved all three points.
