This visit to second in the table NC Sports wasn't a good day for the Blades in terms of the result but in respect
of football Blades matched NC for good spells in the game. Blades went 1-0 down in the 26th minute when they didn't clear
a ball well enough out of the area and NC hit a shot that squeezed between defender and keeper into the net. However, Blades
didn't let heads drop and almost on the stroke of half time equalised with a superbly delivered free kick by Edward Parsons
that Reece Bowen expertly guided with his head into the net for a great goal. Blades had played some really good football
through the first half and had out passed and battled with NC Sports to produce a really good half of football. After the
break, Blades went 2-1 down after 5 minutes of the half when a deflected shot left Jake Nicholls with no chance of a save.
Blades then lost their way and allowed goals in the 9th, 12th and 15th minute of the half to kill them off. NC finally completed
their job with a sixth goal 5 minutes from time when they were allowed a free header in the goal area. Despite the
score line, Blades did actually play some decent football at times and the score does not reflect the game. NC deserved the
points but Blades produced some good performances in all areas of the pitch - their problem was that they lacked consistency
and didn't press home when they should have done. First half Blades were excellent, second half they lacked the competitive
edge to get to grips with NC Sports. In the first half Blades passed the ball around NC Sports to play well, second half
they allowed NC to do the same to them and paid the price. No game next week gives Blades a chance to recoup and hopefully
learn form this game.
