In this League Cup Round 2 tie Blades visited top of Division 1 side East Park Juniors. An opening
15 minutes saw Blades evenly matched with a good physical East Park side and it looked like we might see a replay of last
week's match. Unfortunately in the 17th minute, East Park went 1-0 up when Blades failed to deal with a relatively easy
ball into the box. Blades didn't lose their heads though and 5 minutes later equalised when a great delivery by Edward
Parsons from a corner kick was headed strongly in at the far post by Ryan Stanley. A minute later though and East Park
went 2-1 up when a superb pass split the team open and one of their players hit a very good goal to take them into the break. Eight
minutes after the re-start Blades failed to clear a ball well enough and East Park went further in front. Blades tried
to get back into the game but couldn't break down a well drilled physical side (although they went close on a number of occasions) East
Park's fourth came when Blades attempted to clear the ball and it took a bad bounce of a Blades defender into the net. It
was immaterial though at that stage because Blades didn't seem able to break East Park down - try as they might. Jake Nicholls
in the Blades goal deservedly got man of the match as he was competent throughout and mad some solid saves to deny East Park
more goals. Summary - not a good day for The Blades despite playing some really good football at times. Still, if they
keep on plugging away and stay true to what they know, the results will come
