Blades 9 v 3 New Park Village

Home

An excellent game of football saw Blades get 3 VERY well earned points, score 9 superb goals and play some great team football into the bargain.

Eddie (P) started the ball rolling with a superbly struck in swinging corner that evaded the NPV defence after just 90 seconds to get Blades' first goal.

Blades allowed NPV to draw level 10 minutes later and let them go further ahead three minutes after that when, after two fine saves from Jakey Nic, they failed to clear the ball quickly enough. Two weeks ago Blades would have started to buckle but they didn't today and they showed what they are really made of to go 2-2 from a very well worked and well taken Stanna goal. Rio added another in the 23rd minute and Joshy O adding Blades fourth a minute later - both goals as a result of excellent team football and great finishes. NPV got their third on the half hour but Blades went into the break a deserved 4-3 up.

After the break it took just 7 minutes for The Rickster to get his first goal after some exquisite play from Blades and we then saw a spell of football and determination from both sides with Blades being the dominant team throughout.
Stanna with his second on 55 minutes, Jevo with a "creeping" grass cutter on 58 minutes and a further two gaols from The Rickster for his hat trick in the 61st and 73rd minutes completed the job.

A determined, battling performance from The Blades today gave them their first points of the season and did their goal difference some good too. It was great to see the lads play as they can do and with a smile on their faces too after a rocky start to the season where they have played good football without reward.

Let's hope this starts a run for them now with Silverdale Saints next up in the Staffs Junior Cup.
