Wednesbury 1 v Wildcats 1

Home

Today saw the wildcats come up against the league favourites in the shape of Wednesfield girls. A very powerfull team and aggresive with it,but the girls again showed mass potential in what became a fantastic match to watch and be involved in.
From the off Wednesfield tried to pour forward but with a solid defence of Skye,Lydia and Scarlette just infront they found it hard to penetrate and when they did get through on goal twice found Demi in goal unbeatable.
Then right on the stroke of half time our Beth.A went on one of her mazy runs taking on 4 players before putting a ball across the face of goal and on the back post coming in unmarked was Beth.P and stuck the ball away from close range thus setting off celebrations from our 30+ travelling supporters( i would personally like to thank everyone who made the effort to come and watch us today, your support has been fantastic) .

Half Time 1.0

The second half saw much of the same in play, with our defence holding firm and looking to counter on the break. With a tireless effort from Amie upfront on her own i was beggining to think we may sneek another, and with a little bit more awareness could have stretched our lead as we bagan to find more space in behind them.
Then with ten minutes to go their best player on the day struck a tremondous shot from twenty yards and gave Demi no chance to make it 1.1
That seemed to give them a huge lift and they pushed forward to try and win the game and not for fantastic save from Dem in the last 30 seconds would have grabbed it.
Final score 1.1
We changed formations and asked the girls to cover many different areas of play today and each and everyone of them did just that, another great performance.

Keep up the hard work girls.
GO WILDCATS!!
