Villa V Black Country Eagles

This proved to be a stern test for Villa against a big Eagles side.

Both teams started the game sluggishly but it was Villa who found their feet first and started to play some neat football around the penalty area without finding the clinical finish.Eventually the pressure finally paid off when the Eagles defence failed to clear the ball it eventually fell to Kyle who hit a high shot into the roof of the net to make the score 1-0.

Soon after Sam B made it 2-0 when it seemed that there was nothing on for him he drilled a shot from just inside of his own half and the ball found the corner of the net.

Half Time - Villa 2 Eagles 0

The second half turned out be a real scrap where Eagles fought for every ball without really threatening the Villa goal.Villa put some hard challenges in all around the pitch as they battled to preserve their two goal advantage.However mid way through the second half Eagles pulled a goal back as Villa failed to clear their lines and the Eagles forward slammed the ball into an empty net from two yards out.

That was all Eagles could muster as Villa pushed forward to the end and Ash hit the post late on.

Final Score - Villa 2 Eagles 1

This was a real gritty performance by Villa who were made to battle to the end and it was all the more pleasing to see this side of their game as it has been a long time since they have been pushed all the way.It shows that not only can they play the fluent football when they are allowed to but they can also mix it aswell.
